THE GIFT OF TIME
Who you choose to give your time to reflects what you value.
Last week my spouse and I spent five days in the north of England at a reunion of my cousins. In a rented home in the countryside we cooked and ate together, cleaned dishes and walked and enjoyed an outing together each day. We’re a talkative bunch who shared stories, memories and laughter. I’d been unprepared for what a truly remarkable time this was!
What had made this reunion so unforgettable?
Was it the shared space and meals allowing for spontaneous conversations and unexpected moments? Of course, but the gift we each brought of giving our time to be together was what framed our experiences.
We were privileged to be able to travel from many corners of the earth to be with each other. Back to my more scheduled daily life I wonder how my learning will inform my decisions today. How will you and I choose to use time?
Call-to-Action:
- Be aware of time as a gift to be given and received
- Be mindful of what choices you will make about time
Notice how your choices reveal truth about what you value.
