ENLIVENING MEMORIES
How do your memories enliven your ability to be present to the joy of the now?
I’m surprised by the slew of memories I’ve been filled with this week. My brother and his long time partner are getting married today and a mini family reunion has happened in the days leading up to it. Our parents would have been so proud of this day if they were still alive.
My choice is to be present or not to the variety of memories of parents, family and friends.
Welcoming the memories of those not able to be present has brought them into our celebrations. Embracing the rich memories of moments shared with those who are physically here surprises and delights me.
The result has been past memories making me more keenly aware of embracing each moment of this multi-day gathering of the clan! I’m filled with gratitude for the gift of the now and the couple who has brought us together.
Call-to-Action:
- How will you embrace your memories of gladness today?
- What new memories are you creating by being present to the now?
Notice how memories of the past and those of the soon to be past invite you to be fully alive in this moment.
