Allow yourself to be delighted this holiday season.

This year playful holiday lights adorning homes, tree ornaments revealing family stories and exuberant Christmas decorations have stopped me in my tracks.

Instead of making assumptions about their annual appearance they’ve invited me to experience the delight and joy of others.

They reveal something of the hopes and yearnings of others. They point me to the gladness they herald.

Each of these expressions reveals something about the unique magnificence of those who have put them up. I smile with gratitude and my heart is thankful. What delight will I share with others this season? What unexpected delight will I be open to?
